Alpine Adventure Holiday Park is built on a site that was first occupied by Augustus and Elizabeth Lamerht, who ran an accommodation house from 1898, on the site where our 40 bed Bellbird Lodge now stands.
This provided much needed respite for the musterers and drovers who brought stock through Molesworth Station, one of the original South Island High Country “runs”. This historic sheep run is still the largest working farm in New Zealand. The holiday park occupies 19 acres in a quiet valley between Mt Isobel and Mt Dunblane, surrounded by exotic and native bush. Alpine Adventures Holiday Park is noted for its extensive plantings of native and exotic trees, which gives it a uniquely quiet, restful character.
We are very excited about our latest innovation – an outdoor swimming pool, which we expect to be finished by Christmas 2008.
